Proverbia:

• Aquilae senecta, Corydi iuventa. The old age of an eagle, the youth of a lark.
• Inter indoctos etiam Corydus sonat. Among the ignorant, even the lark sings.
• Si corydus cycnum queat aequiparare canendo. When the lark is able to equal the swan with its singing.
• Omnibus galeritis oportet cristam inesse. All larks must have their crest.
• Alauda in nido latet gramen. The crested lark hides an herb in its nest.
