AESOP VIDEO CONTEST: Impersonate an animal in Latin! Bolchazy-Carducci is sponsoring an Aesop video contest - find out more at Andrew Reinhard's eClassics Ning! :-)

Welcome to LatinViaFables.com - Your Ning for Aesop in Latin

This Ning is where you can find all the supplemental materials to accompany my new book, Aesop’s Fables in Latin: Ancient Wit and Wisdom from the Animal Kingdom, which will be issued by Bolchazy-Carducci publishers in January 2009. More information about the book will be available here soon - meanwhile, this Ning can be a meeting place for people interested in Aesop in Latin, or Latin proverbs, or fables and proverbs in general. Welcome!

LIST OF FABLES: You will find here a list of all 80 fables that will be in the book, with access to a resource area for each fable including a discussion board, links to the Latin text online, grammar notes, English translation, the 17th-century book page (digital copy) - with new materials being added daily. For even more Latin fables (uh, 4000 of them, more or less!), you can also visit the Aesopus PBWiki.

Browse... and join. Anyone can browse the contents of this Ning, but to add your own questions and comments, you'll need to become a member - and don't worry: it's easy: Sign Up Here. (There are some other great Latin Nings you can join, too, like eClassics and Schola.)

Every member of the Ning has a blog - just click here to "Add a Blog Post" to your Ning blog (or you can access your blog via your profile page). You might keep a study diary here, for example, or share your favorite Latin web resources, study tips, and so on. It's easy! (For tips and tricks, check out the NingGuide Page.)
